As a stay-at-home mom, I set the tone of my home like a thermostat. My attitude, habits, and choices, for good or for bad, my kids are watching [these things]. If I’m looking to myself to solve my problems by what I can do, then when my kids look to me [to solve their problems?], I’m left feeling even more depleted.
Within myself, I come up short at every point. I have so much more to offer when I am running to Christ to fill me.
“I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me, you can do nothing.” John 15:5 (ESV)
If I look to God for strength, courage, and wisdom to face each new situation, my kids see that, and I have much more to give them. Plus, I’m hoping they also see Jesus in how I love them and my husband along the way.
Jesus, be my joy and my strength, I pray!
